\r\nLucille M. Garner, 77, of Eau Claire, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN after a courageous battle with Bartonella Disease, which has affected only 11 other people in the world.\r\nShe was born in Eau Claire on November 4, 1933, a daughter of William and Grace Spitt.\r\nIn 1961, she married Gene Garner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. \r\nLucille worked at the UWEC Bookstore for over 25 years. She was active at Mt. Simon Concessions for over 20 years, and with St. Ann's Society of Sacred Heart Church where she was a lifelong member. She was an avid bowler and loved watching her children, grandchildren, other relatives and friends play ball.\r\nShe is survived by her children, Gina Bradley, Mary (Paul) Zachau, Julia (Brian) Lanners, Tony (Tiffany) Garner and William Garner; grandchildren, Beki (Bob) Miskanis, Jeremy, Jordan and Peter Belden, Nicole and Lukas Lanners, Trenton and Gracie Garner, and Kennedy Garner; great-grandchildren, Sophia Miskanis and Isabella Belden; sisters, Elaine Fehrenbach and Catherine (Don) Ebert; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Gene and parents, Bill and Grace. \r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 416 N. Dewey Street in Eau Claire with Father William A. Dhein officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Avenue in Eau Claire with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
