Lyal Eugene Person, 83, of Eau Claire, WI, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born on May 11, 1929, in Frazee, MN, a son of William E. and Anna (Meyer) Person. Lyal served in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1950, and the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1964. On June 9, 1951, he married Rosemary Bahr, at St. Anthony's Church in Kenosha, WI. Lyal was a successful entrepreneur and jack-of-all-trades. He was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa. Lyal is survived by his wife, Rosemary Person of Eau Claire, WI; daughter, Mary Ann Person of La Crosse, WI; son, Ed (Jodi) Person of Franklin, WI; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, William, Steve, Emory, and Lorin; and sisters, Clara Walker, Stella Ragan, Marie Gentz, and Betty Person. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home WEST CHAPEL, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave. in Eau Claire with Monsignor Edmund Klimek officiating. Burial will be in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Beaver Brook Township, with military honors conducted at the cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the funeral home.
