LYDIA CHARLOTTE HOLLEN, 88, a former resident of Eau Claire, died at Manor Care Rehabilitation facility in Boulder, Colorado on Friday, April 23, 1999. She was born September 16, 1910 in Rock Rapids, Iowa to Marius and Matilda (Nelson) Dahl. \r\nLydia married William Edmund Hollen on Sept. 30, 1945 and worked for many years in Eau Claire at the Hollywood Deluxe Beauty Shop and in later years at the Fashion Store. They were members of Grace Lutheran Church. After William died in 1968, she spent three summers in England with her son, Marius F. Kempf and his family. Marius was stationed in England with the United States Airforce. She moved to Boulder in 1980.\r\nSurvivors include a daughter, Linda (David) Hollen Cain of Boulder, and grandsons, Michael (Jennifer) David Cain and Jonathan Christopher Cain all of Boulder; and her son, Marius "Fred" (Mary "Kellee") Kempf, granddaughter, Kristine (Patrick) Korth, grandson, Daniel (Barbara) Kempf, and two great-grandsons, Zane and Keenan Korth all of Las Vegas, Nevada; a niece, Sandra (Don) Julian of Overland Park,Kansas and a nephew, J.F. "Fred" (Deborah) Kappus III of Eau Claire\r\nA sister, Alice V. Kappus, also preceded her in death.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Howard Fehr of Grace Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
