LYNNE KATHLEEN OYEN, 51, of 2007 Crestview Drive, died Thursday, July 30, 1998 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. after a courageous six year battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She was born on May 10, 1947 in Manitowoc, WI to Carl and Phyllis (Johnson) Meyers. Lynne grew up in Manitowoc where she graduated from Manitowoc Lutheran High School in 1965. She graduated as an X-Ray Technician from Milwaukee County Hospital and later attended the University of Dayton in Dayton,OH.\r\nLynne married Duane B. Oyen in Manitowoc on June 8, 1968.\r\nThey resided in Iowa City,IA, and Dayton, OH, before moving to Eau Claire in 1976. Lynne worked for American Family Insurance and was an insurance agent at Norwest Bank until 1991. She was a member of the American Contract Bridge Association and the Chippewa Valley Professional Insurance Women.Lynne was an avid bridge player (Life Master) and loved bowling and golf.\r\nSurvivors include her husband, Duane; her father, Carl Meyers of San Diego,CA; two sisters, Patricia (Russell) Schwalbe of Oshkosh and Ginger (Chuck) Schwarz of Manitowoc; nieces and nephews, Keith, James, Scott, and Susan Schwalbe, and Nicole (Joel) Peplinski, Christopher and Rachel Schwarz. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her mother, Phyllis in 1987.\r\nLynne was always concerned with other people's well being. She was a compassionate, loyal and caring person who could always be depended on. She was a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, and aunt and a second mother to her nieces and nephews. Her greatest love was her family and she always saw the best in people.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 A.M. Monday at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Jeanne L. Warner officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.\r\nThe family requests that memorials be made to The UW-Eau Claire Foundation- The Lynne Oyen Scholarship at 105 Garfield Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54702-4004 or the American Lung Association of WI, 150 S.
