M. Lorraine Hanson, 84, formerly of 616 Emery Street died Friday, November 29, 2002 at Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born on March 25, 1918 in the town of Howard, Chippewa County, WI the daughter of James and Katherine (Tupper) Olson.\r\nLorraine married Raymond P. Hanson in Elk Mound on March 10, 1945.\r\nShe worked for the Eau Claire Board of Education as a cook and laundress for many years until her retirement in 1986.\r\nLorraine lovingly cared for her invalid husband, Raymond from 1949 until his death in 1982.\r\nShe is survived by one daughter, Vicki (William) Haase of Conrath; two sons, Richard (Gayle) of Hugo, MN and Gene (Mary) of Eau Claire; seven grandchildren, Jana (Scott) Haynes of Austin, MN, Shannon (Joseph) Repka of Oshkosh, Tammy (Juan) Cortes of Mpls., MN, Wendy Hanson of Vadnais Heights MN, Beth (Tory) Luck and Benjamin (Mary) Hanson both of Eau Claire, and Kari Hanson of Milwaukee; a great grandson Micah Cortes; two sisters, Charlotte McSorley and Jean Simon both of Eau Claire; a brother, Lewis (Lena) Olson of Colfax; a brother-in-law, Marshall (Shirley) Hanson of Elk Mound; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nLorraine was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a brother-in-law, Ray Simon.\r\nFuneral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2002 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Howard Fehr officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Chippewa Falls. Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday both at the funeral home.
