Mabel L. Peterson, 88, of Eau Claire died Friday, June 10, 2005, at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was born on her family farm in the Town of Washington, Wisconsin on July 25, 1916, the daughter of Julis and Ida (Moss) Kriesel.\r\nMabel married Gerhard J. Boernke on March 9, 1937, in Stillwater, Minnesota.Gerhard died in 1973. She married Jacob "Jack" Peterson on October 10, 1980, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Jack died in 1988\r\nMabel worked in the housekeeping department at Luther Hospital until her retirement in 1980.\r\nShe was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.\r\nSurvivors include her daughter, Marlys (Harvey) Hite of Fall Creek; son, Robert (Tess) Boernke of Eau Claire; four grandchildren, Sherry Hite of Cincinnati, OH, Deborah Miller of Green Bay, Christine (Manuel) Rivera of Dallas, TX, and Timothy (Angela) Hite of Eau Claire; seven great grandchildren, Matthew, Laura, and Jennifer Miller, Gabrielle and Alexis Rivera, and Aria and Avianna Hite; four step children, John Peterson of Eau Claire, Patrick (Lori) Peterson and Sharon Ferguson both of Rice Lake, and Beverly (Nick) Sorko-Ram of Michigan; and several step grand children.\r\nMabel was also preceded in death by her parents; seven sisters, Elsie Rickard, Alma Chamberlain, Lucy Wiese, Helen Hotchkiss, Dahlia Kunert, Lydia Rugotzke, and Irene Kersten; and two brothers in infancy.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2005, at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the town of Washington. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church.
