Mabel L. Watson, 92, of Eau Claire, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the Chippewa Manner in Chippewa Falls.\r\nShe was born on January 3, 1917, in Red Cedar Township, Beyer's Settlement, near Menomonie, to Frank and Lillie (Cook) Grambo.\r\nMabel attended Beyer Settlement School in Dunn County, and she graduated from Menomonie High School in 1934.\r\nAfter graduation, she moved to Eau Claire to work. There she met Clinton T. Watson while out dancing. They were united in marriage on July 10, 1941, and continued to enjoy dances for the next 48 years.\r\nShe was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, where she served as president of the Ladies Aid, and was also the Christian Growth Chairman for many years. Mabel enjoyed quilting for World Relief. She also was president of the Ladies Auxiliary to V.F.W. Post 305, and also served in various positions, Americanism being her favorite. \r\nMabel is survived by her son, James (Kim), son Kenneth (Shirley), daughter, Jean (Mark) Galde, and son, Howard (Patrick); a daughter-in-law, Ruth Watson-Nichols; seven grandchildren, Christine (Chris) Henes, Darlene (Tom)Buckman, Daniel Watson, Kelly (Aaron) Oas, Wendy (Joel) Glenz, Jessica Watson&Jennifer (Tom) Todd; four step-grandchildren, Jamie, Rick, Joni&Katelyn Smith; seven great-grandchildren, Melissa Henes, Briana Henes, Colton Oas, Dylan Oas, Lilly Glenz, Avery Glenz and Joselyn Watson; step-great granddaughter, Madison Smith; a brother, Richard; special nephew, Marlin Grambo; sister-in-law, Estelle Watson; and "adopted" son, Randy Weber; and many nieces, Nephews, and other loving relatives&friends.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton in 1989.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Carlton Kangas officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 12 and one hour prior to services at the church.\r\nThe family would like to express their appreciation for the loving care shown to their mother by the staff at Colfax Help and Rehab Center - Minnibloom unit and Chippewa Manor. A very special thank you goes out to her granddaughters Jennifer, for her year of homecare, and Jessica for her loving care throughout mom's final years.\r\n
