MAE V. UTEGAARD, 83, of 901 S. Farwell St., died Saturday, November 8, 1997 at Luther Hospital. She was born April 23, 1914 in the village of Arnold, town of Rudy, Chippewa County to Addelor and Martha (Attlesey) Couillard. \r\nMae married R. Harold Utegaard on July 1, 1944 in Milwaukee. When she first moved to Eau Claire, Mae worked at Branstad Drug Store. She later worked at Walley's Chalet in various capacities for over 20 twenty years, until her retirement in 1982.\r\nSurvivors include a daughter, Connie (Danny) Luer of Chippewa Falls; a son, Ken (Nancy) Gerlach of Wisconsin Rapids; nine grandchildren, Coreigh Utegaard, Tom and Terri Luer, Leslie(Pat)Sullivan, Douglas(Debbie) Gerlach, Colleen(Daniel) Peterson, Craig (Janice)Gerlach, Barry(Connie) Gerlach and Lane(Denise) Gerlach; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold and Willis Couillard; a sister, Edna Hinkle of Gilman; many nieces and nephews.\r\nMae was preceded in death by her husband, R. Harold in 1978; a son, Thomas; five brothers and one sister. \r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home with Pastor Hal Schroetter officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
