She was born on October\r\n20, 1931, in Eau Claire,\r\nthe daughter of Hjalmer and Helen (Johnson) Berg.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMarcia graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the\r\nClass of 1949. She work in the office of Dolly Madison Dairies, where she met\r\nher future husband, James R. "Jim" Novacek. They were married on June 25, 1951.\r\nThey had two children, Barbara Ann and Steve.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMarcy and Jim enjoyed entertaining their many friends and\r\nfamily at their lake home on Lake Holcombe. Marcy loved trying out her new\r\nrecipes on all the guests.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMarcy was President of the women at First Lutheran Church,\r\nwhere she was in many different circles over the years. She was a Deacon and\r\ngave years of service to Community Table. She worked in the church office as a\r\nvolunteer for over 15 years. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMarcy loved to travel, having visited Norway, Czech\r\nRepublic, Austria, Greece, Turkey and Israel. Where ever she went, she had a\r\ngood time.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMarcy is survived by her son Steve (Jane) of Eau Claire;\r\nsister, Ardis (Leonard) Erickson of Madison; four grandsons, Dan and Mike\r\nNovacek both of Eau Claire, Christopher (Nicki) and Sean (Jenny) Simonis, both\r\nof DesMoines, IA; son-in-law, Bill (Donna) Simonis of Cedar Falls, IA; and a\r\nvery special sister-in-law, Gloria Berg of Eau Claire.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nShe is preceded in death by her husband, Jim; daughter,\r\nBarbara; parents; and brothers, Eilert "Cy" and Lyman Berg.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nFuneral Service will be held at 11AM on Friday, May 13,\r\n2011, at First Lutheran Church,\r\n1005 Oxford\r\n Ave., Eau Claire,\r\nwith Pastor Kristin Swenson officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m.\r\nThursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. in Eau Claire and\r\nhour prior to the service Friday at the church. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau\r\n Claire. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the\r\nCommunity Table, 320 Putnam Street\r\nEau Claire, WI 54703 or First Lutheran\r\n Church
