Marcia L. Peterson, 94, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, took her first "Heavenly Breath" on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Heritage Court Memory Care in Eau Claire.

Marcia was born on September 11, 1930, to Bessie and Carl Skamser and graduated from Eau Claire High School. She married the love of her life, Gordon Peterson, on October 20, 1950.

Throughout her life, Marcia was employed at the Telephone Company, J.C. Penney, and American National Bank (now Wells Fargo).

Marcia's favorite pastime was taking in as many thrift sales in one day as humanly possible--plus a few more. Her joy was multiplied by sharing those adventures with her like-minded dear friends. Over the years, she built extensive jewelry and porcelain doll collections.

Marcia also loved her coffee time with her friends, as well as frequent lunch dates. She and Gordy enjoyed going out to dinner with their many close friends.

Traveling was a favorite hobby that Marcia and Gordy enjoyed. Together, they explored many foreign countries, including Norway, as well as many parts of the USA during their free time. She was proud of her Norwegian sweater collection and wore her authentic sweaters often.

Marcia was a devoted member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Eau Claire.

She is survived by her son Mark (Joyce) Peterson; granddaughter Ashley (AJ) Minaker; grandson Brody (Mandy) Peterson; and great-grandchildren Merrick and Macy Minaker, and Everett and Estelle Peterson.

She is also survived by her special nieces Connie Martenson, Jane Lendle, Mary Campbell, and Toni Cavannaugh, as well as many other friends.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Gordon Peterson; daughter Shannon Homes; son Rodney Peterson; son-in-law Tom Homes; and brother Gale Skamser.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd - Eau Claire.

A special thank you to the staff at Heritage Court Memory Care in Eau Claire for the wonderful care over these last two years. The comfort given to Marcia and her family was truly a gift and cannot be overstated.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 4th at 10:00 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, (1120 Cedar St, Eau Claire, WI 54703). Funeral service to follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Lenmark-Gomsrud- Linn Funeral Home in Eau Claire, WI is assisting the family.
