Obituary

Margaret Anne Bundy, 63, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin died among family and friends on Sunday, March 19, 2006, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. She was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on December 13, 1942, the daughter of John and Margaret (Seher) MacDonald.\r\nMargaret Anne attended Bay High School, in Bay Village OH. She went on to attend both Muskingum College in New Concord, OH and William Jewell College in Liberty, MO, from which she graduated. \r\nMargaret Anne married Lawrence S. Bundy on June 27, 1964 in St. Joseph, MO.\r\nShe later taught French and History at Liberty High School. Margaret Anne and Larry then moved to Lincoln, NE, where she taught French at nearby Norris High School and also at the University of Nebraska, Division of Continuing Studies.\r\nShe joined Alpha Delta Pi Sorority at William Jewell College, and later served as a chapter advisor at the University of Nebraska. She also served as Regional Coordinator for Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and the province of Manitoba and then as a member of the national governing council. Margaret Anne was elected Grand President of the sorority in 1989. She was a member of the National Panhellenic Conference serving as a delegate, as a collegian and as a member of the National Panhellenic Conference delegation at the time of her death.\r\nIn 1979 the family moved to Eau Claire, where she was a member and served as president of Service League and was a member and served as president of P.E.O. Chapter AP. \r\nMargaret Anne had a life-long passion for teaching and helping others. She worked at length in the promotion of literacy as a volunteer training specialist and VISTA project director at the Chippewa Valley Technical College. Margaret Anne also worked extensively in the literacy and support of the Eau Claire Hmong community, Wisconsin Reads Project, WI Family Literacy Initiative and the Literacy Volunteers of America.\r\nMargaret Anne is survived by her husband, Lawrence; two sons, Phillip Blaine (Melissa) of Eau Claire and their children Elle Elizabeth, Olivia Louise, Isabel Grace, and Phillip Tate Bundy, and Christopher Blaire (Larissa) Bundy of Madison, and their son, Maxwell Spencer Bundy. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents.\r\nA Celebration of Margaret Anne's life will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2006, at University Lutheran Church at the Ecumenical Religious Center, 110 Garfield Ave., Eau Claire.
