Margaret H. Christianson, age 98, of Eau Claire, went home to celebrate Christmas with her Savior on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at the Chippewa Manor with her son, Dick Christianson, at her side. Margaret was born in Eau Claire on June 30, 1914, to Chris and Emma (Holten) Nelson. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1932, and attended Luther Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1936. She married Edward C. Christianson, on June 4, 1938, in Eau Claire. Margaret was employed for 19 years at Luther Hospital and 6 years as a nurse at Mt. Washington Residence, retiring in 1976. In retirement, Margaret was a member of the Luther Alumni Association and a hospital volunteer. She especially enjoyed sewing puppets for pediatric patients. Margaret was very proud of being a life-long member of the First Lutheran Church family. Margaret is survived by her son, Richard (Diana) Christianson of Eau Claire; four grandchildren, Erin (Brian) Stark, Sara (Joel) Willis, Janine (Mark) Larson, and Drake (Andrea) Cody; eight great-grandchildren, Miranda and Elliott Stark; Ryan, Austin, and Madison Larson; Rayne Cody; and Leslie and Will Willis; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Cody in 1982; her husband, Edward in 1991; and her brother, Irving Nelson, and two sisters, Geraldine Nelson and Lorraine Rolland. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 16, 2012, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire. Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, at First Lutheran Church, 1005 Oxford Ave., Eau Claire, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Lowell Halvorson and Pastor Michael Rehak will be officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire. Margaret's family requests that memorials be directed to First Lutheran Church, 1005 Oxford Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54703.
