Obituary

Margaret H. Gilbertson, 99, of Elk Mound, died Thursday, June 14, 2007, at American Lutheran Home in Menomonie.\r\nShe was born October 14, 1907, in Astoria, OR, the daughter of Arthur L. and Caroline T. (Larson) Anderson.\r\nMargaret was a member of Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church for seventy years. She married Eddie Gilbertson there on December 12, 1937. Margaret was active in her church circle, and also a Sunday school teacher. In her later years, she was active in the women's quilting group. She was also a member of her neighborhood sunshine club for seventy years.\r\nMargaret will always be remembered as a loving and giving person that was a wonderful baker. The grandchildren miss her chocolate chip cookies, angel food cake, and her wonderful cinnamon rolls.\r\nShe is survived by her son, David (Mary) of Elk Mound; her daughter, Joan Roberts of Marshfield; six grandchildren, Steven (Cheryl) Roberts, Rhonda Roberts, Brian (Peg) Gilbertson, Eric (Shawn) Gilbertson, Kevin (Kay) Gilbertson; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eddie in 1986; and infant daughter, Virginia; two brothers, Alf Anderson, Lester Anderson; and two sisters, Verna Blicher, and Lila O'Rourke.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11a.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church, with Pastor Dean C. Brockmeier officiating. Burial will be in Barum Lutheran Cemetery, Elk Mound. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.\r\n
