Obituary

Margaret L. (Burt) Gitzlaff, 96, of Eau Claire died Sunday, August 24, 2003 at Syverson Lutheran Home. \r\nShe was born June 7, 1907 in Independence, Wisconsin the daughter of John and Luella (Ward) Burt. Margaret attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota and then received her dietician training out east. Margaret worked as a dietician at hospitals in New York and Kenosha.\r\nOn October 5, 1957, Margaret married John A. Gitzlaff in Kenosha, Wis.\r\nSurvivors include three sisters, Blanche Magnuson of Blair, Phyllis Gabriel and Verna Gunderson both of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John, in 1972; two sisters, Mabel Larson and Agnes Amble; and three brothers, Clayton, Wendell and Allen Burt. \r\nMemorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2003 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Herbert H. Prahl of St. Mark Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Green Ridge Cemetery in Kenosha, Wis. Friends may call an hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.\r\nMemorials may be directed to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 3307 State St., Eau Claire, WI 54701.
