Margaret R. (Sather) Haugen, 94, of Eau Claire, died Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born in Eau Claire on August 19, 1912, to Peter and Ingelborg (Toset) Sather. \r\nMargaret married Glenn M. Haugen in Eau Claire on April 6, 1946, at First Lutheran Church.\r\nShe was an educator teaching in the Eau Claire School District for many years until her retirement in 1974. She was a member of the Sons of Norway Loven Lodge #29 and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 53. Margaret was also an active member at First Lutheran Church throughout her life.\r\nMargaret is survived by three nephews, Robert D. (Ruth) Sather of Chippewa Falls, Peter (Bonnie) Sather of Eau Claire and Jerome (Martha) Sather of Crystal River, FL; two nieces, Nancy (Jack) Badger of Chetek and Helen Mary (Carl) Griebel of Bellevue, IA; sister-in-law, Florence Sather of Altoona; and several grand nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband Glenn in June 1987; her parents; a sister, Esther Sather; and her brother, Oscar.\r\nFuneral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2006, at First Lutheran Church Chapel with Pastor Amy Odgren officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
