Obituary

Margaret L. Hennig, 95, of Eau Claire, died on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls. She was born on February 28, 1916 to Herman and Minnie (Zieman) Schnittke. On May 21, 1936 she married Arnold H. Hennig. He preceded her in death in 1969. Margaret loved her rose garden and gardening and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She retired from Montgomery Ward after many years in sales. For 22 years she wintered in Florida with her special friend Len, playing cards and shuffleboard. Margaret is survived by her children, David (Diane) Hennig and Susan (Roger) Lauterbach; grandchildren, Kurtis Hennig, Kari Edwards (Matt), and Shane Walters (Tosha); 2 great-grandsons; 4 great-granddaughters; and 1 great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Amanda Otto and Gertrude Peterson; brother, LaVerne Schnittke; infant brother, Clarence Schnittke; and special friend, Len. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church, Hwy 93 and County Highway HH, with Pastor Timothy Moe officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in the Town of Pleasant Valley. The family would like to thank the staff at Rutledge Home and St. Joseph's Hospice for their wonderful care for Margaret.
