Margaret V. Hoover, age 90, passed away peacefully at Sacred Heart Hospital on Wednesday, August 1, 2007.\r\nShe was born on December 17, 1916, to Edward and Elizabeth (Carpenter) Hoover at their homestead near Rock Falls and lived in the Rock Falls&Eau Claire area all her life. Marge had been a resident of Oakwood Villa in Altoona for the past two years. \r\nShe was a long-time member of the former Chippewa Valley Church of the Brethren, rural Mondovi. Marge worked at Huntsinger Farms, the Eau Claire Hotel, and then 16 years at Luther Hospital until her retirement in 1980.\r\nNicknamed "Tom" by her five older sisters in her childhood, Marge was tiny in stature, but had a big heart and a vivacious spirit.\r\nMarge is survived by one sister, Catherine Bergh of Eau Claire; a brother-in-law, Frank Hendricks of Oregon; a cousin, Mildren Sneen of Eau Claire; and eight nieces and nephews, Ron Deardorff, Dale Deardorff, Elizabeth (Harold) Olson, Lois (Camden) Thomas, Gary (Lorraine) Bergh all of Eau Claire, Joyce (Jim) Andress of Forest Lake, MN, Bob (Freda) Hendricks, and Lyndal Hendricks both of Woodburn, Oregon.\r\nPreceding her in death were her parents; four sisters, Edna (Karl) Strelow, Mabel (Irvin) Deardorff, Jennie Hendricks, Lena (Forest) McIntosh; a brother-in-law, Gerhard Bergh; and a nephew, Leland McIntosh.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 5, 2007, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor David Sands officiating. Burial will be in Rock Falls Cemetery in Rock Falls.
