MARGARET L. HUGHES, 99, 1405 Truax Blvd.. died Thursday, October 31, 1996 at the Center of Care. She was born October 30, 1897 to Thomas and Ellen (Bergerson) Severson in Eau Claire. Ellen and Thomas were from Norway. Margaret married Walter Hughes in 1920 in Eau Claire. They had one child, Walter Jr., and raised a nephew, Oscar Jr., from infancy.\r\nMargaret resided at Mt. Washington Residence from 1977 until 1985, when she moved to theCenter of Care.\r\nSurvivors include her son, Walter V. Hughes Jr.; two grandsons, Jason and Kevin Hughes, all of Yucca Valley, CA; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter in 1943; five brothers, Sever, Martin, E. Oscar, Harold, and infant Edwin ; and two sisters, Helga Palmer and Mabel Severson.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home, with Pastor Frederick C. Sauder officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.Friends may call 4 to 6 P.M. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
