MARGARET DODSON KENNEDY, 84, of 851 University Dr., formerly of 1710 State St., died Sunday, May 4, 1997 at her home. She was born November 3, 1912 in West Lafayette, Indiana to William E. and Louise (Rothenburger) Dodson. She graduated from Purdue University in 1932 with a degree in Pre Medicine and English. Margaret married Dr. Richard L. Kennedy on September 30, 1933 in Lafayette,IN. They moved to Eau Claire in 1946 when Dr. Kennedy joined the Midelfart Clinic as a urologist. Margaret was active in the Campus School Mothers Organization, the TriCounty Medical Auxiliary and spent many happy hours at the bridge table.\r\nSurvivors include a daughter-in-law, Kathryn "Kay" Kennedy; seven grandchildren, Sarah (Mark) Swanson, Richfield,MN, Ann (Dane) Gerzsik, Black River Falls, Margaret (Capt. John) Poast, Gulf Breeze,FL, Kathryn (John) Schulte, Naperville,IL, Richard, Lafayette,LA, Elizabeth (Eric) Wiechert, DeKalb,IL, and Charles of Eau Claire; ten great-grandchildren, William, Katherine, Max and Emily Swanson, Sarah, Robert and Jacob Gerzsik, Teresa Anne Poast, Katy Jo and Jack Schulte.\r\nMargaret was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Dr. Richard D. Kennedy and a daughter, Dr. Sarah Margaret Polder.\r\nShe will be sadly missed by her many friends and family members who admired her spunk and intelligence.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home with Father Edmund Klimek officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.\r\nThe Family requests memorials be directed to Sacred Heart or Luther Hospitals.
