Margaret "Dorothy" Lawler, 95, of Eau Claire, died Friday, November 26, 2010, at her home under the care of Lifenet and St. Joseph's Hospice. \r\nShe was born in Eau Claire on April 6, 1915, the daughter of John and Margaret (Gormley) Ward and resided in Eau Claire her entire life.\r\nShe attended St. Patrick's School, graduating from High School in June 1933.\r\nDorothy married Lawrence D. Lawler on May 21, 1938, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Eau Claire. \r\nDorothy and Lawrence enjoyed many years of dancing, and in their later years spent many hours watching "Dancing with the Stars" together.\r\nShe was a dedicated, loving wife to Lawrence her husband of almost 72 years before his death in 2010.\r\nDorothy worked as a sales clerk for J.C. Penny until her retirement.\r\nShe was a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church.\r\nDorothy is survived by her nephew, John (Patricia) Soley of Eau Claire; a great-niece, Teresa Schultz of Eau Claire; and many other great-nieces and nephews. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; her parents; two nieces, Sheryl Madigan and Barbara Huot; and two sisters, Mary (Henry) Soley and Gwendolyn (Vernon) Larsen. \r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 29, 2010 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church with Father Schultz officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire.
