Margaret Rose Lien, 85, Eau Claire, died Sunday, October 30, 2005, at Syverson Lutheran Home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Arcadia, on August 9, 1920, the daughter of George and Anna (Theurer) Glanzer. She graduated from Arcadia High School with the Class of 1938.\r\nMargaret married George C. Lien on June 30, 1951, at St. Johns's-Christ Lutheran Church in Arcadia.\r\nShe was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church active in Women of Grace, Grace Circle and Altar Guild. She was a member of Letter Carrier's Auxiliary #829, VFW Post #305 Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary in Arcadia, and "Hot Issues" Women's Investment Club in Eau Claire\r\nShe worked at her family's bottling plant, Orange Crush Bottling Works in Arcadia; National Presto Industries during World War II; and then stayed at home to raise her son, Kory. Later she worked for Fabritec in Eau Claire; represented Avon and Mary Kay products for a number of years; conducted consumer research surveys, and gave many years of volunteer services.\r\nMargaret was truly a very special mother and friend and gave of herself unselfishly in living her life. She adored her two grand daughters and her dog, "Kiska," while always having the gift of turning a frown into a smile. Among her many hobbies were golf, flower gardening, caring for her birds, and helping the less fortunate. Margaret will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends but never, ever forgotten. Heaven is a better place with her in it.\r\nSurvivors include her son, Kory (Carol) Lien and her two granddaughters, Tanya and Shauna Lien all of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George in 1994; two brothers, George and Donald Glanzer; and two sisters, Nancy Sobotta and Eleanor Fetting.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2005, at Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. David J. Irgens officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church. There will be a Letter Carriers Auxiliary service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.\r\n
