Margaret M. Smith, 92, of Eau Claire, WI, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Dove Healthcare. \r\nShe was born in Helvetia, West Virginia, on March 25, 1917, a daughter of Jacob and Anna (Marti) Teuscher.\r\nMargaret married George N. Smith on August 9, 1938 in Clarksburg, WV. \r\nFollowing George's retirement in 1976, George and Margaret moved to Eau Claire where they became very active members of Truax Congregational United Church of Christ. \r\nMargaret found great joy in flowers, quilting, and shopping, as well as visiting her many friends and family.\r\nSurvivors include her son, Dwight (Bonnie) Smith of Sarona; three grand-children; Dawna (Dan) Drum of New Auburn, Tresia Smith of Chetek, and David Smith of Okanogan, WA ; three great-grandsons, Jordan and Tanner Hartl both of Chetek, and Evan Smith of Okanogan, WA.\r\nShe was also preceded in death by her husband, George in 1997; son, Larry in 2008; her parents; and three sisters, Lena Gurtek, Gertrude Paul, and Alma Hill; and a daughter-in-law, Lillian Smith.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Truax Congregational United Church of Christ, with Pastor David Stratton officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 26, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.\r\nAny memorials will be donated to Truax Congregational United Church of Christ, Route 2, Eau Claire, WI 54703.
