Margaret E. Martin, 88, a resident of Clairemont Nursing Home and formerly of 3153 Mercury Ave., died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at the Clairemont. \r\nShe was born on June 3, 1916, in the town of Clear Creek, WI, the daughter of Thomas and Mildred (Foster) Biesecker. Margaret married Egon "Jerry" Martin on October 25, 1936 in the Town of Pleasant Valley. She worked as a beautician and at Peters Meat Co., Ferings, and Fanny Hill. Margaret was a talented seamstress and decorator. When she worked for Larry and Sheila Barr at Fanny Hill, it was very evident of the joy she received from her decorating and portrayal of "Mrs. Santa Claus". Hope Lutheran Church was a very big part of her life as she served as a Sunday School Teacher, a Deacon and on the Boards. She served as Head Officer of Pythian Sisters, and state and local offices in U.C.T. Auxiliary. \r\nMargaret loved her family very much. All of the get-togethers meant a lot to her, especially the Christmas Holiday. "We will all miss you very much but we know that you are now where you belong."\r\nMargaret is survived by two sons, Thomas (Sharon) Martin of Hot Springs Village, AR and Gary "Butch" (Joanne) Martin of Eau Claire; two sisters-in-law, Margaret (Russell) Crandell and Catherine Martin both of Eau Claire; six grandsons, Mike (Diane) Martin of Superior, Jon (Nikki) Martin of South Range, Chad (Kristin) Martin of Dallas, TX, Jason (Lisa) Martin of Minneapolis, MN, C.J. (Anne) Martin of Arcadia, and Justin (Angela) Martin of Roseville, MN; three granddaughters, Jackie (Mark) Felmlee of Eau Claire, Kim Martin of Menomonie, and Kelly (Neil) Baillie of Hudson; seventeen great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson; and several nieces, nephews and friends.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Egon "Jerry"; and a son, Robert.\r\nFuneral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2004 at Hope Lutheran Church with Pastor Randy Olson officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the town of Washington. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church. \r\nThe family requests that memorials be directed to the Building Fund at Hope Lutheran Church.\r\n
