MARGARET E. MAYER, 67, of 1105 So. Barstow St., died Tuesday, July 14, 1998 at her home. She was born on December 3, 1930 in Durand,WI to Frank and Cora (Livingston) Fox. \r\nMargaret married Kenneth E. Mayer at Grace Lutheran Church on January 16, 1949. Margaret spent most of her time being a housewife and mother. As her family grew up, she then worked outside her home. She worked in Housekeeping at Luther Hospital 18 years until her retirement in January of 1993. She was a member of the Eau Claire Women of the Moose #1408.\r\nSurvivors include her husband, Kenneth; two sons, Daniel (Donna) of Blair and Rick and (daughter-in-law) Denise of Eau Claire; four daughters, Nancy Mayer of Tomah, Mary Dicke of Hudson, Carol (Michael) Pickerign of Eau Galle, and Deborah Mayer of Eau Claire; eight grandchildren, Greg Prochnow, Jason (Kelly) and Ryan Mayer, Jennifer and Larry Pickerign, Angela and Marie Dicke, and Annette Kurtzweil; two great-grandsons, Cody and Tyler; three brothers, Raymond Fox of Menomonie, John (Melba) Fox of Elk Mound and George (Lois) Fox of Eleva; a sister Florence ( Ben) Hayden of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Malcom Fox.\r\nMargaret was a loving wife and mother, and an excellent cook. We will miss her so much.\r\nFuneral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Howard Fehr officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery in the town of Washington. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
