Margaret L. Monson, 90, of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, October 5, 2004, at her home. She was born on February 14, 1914, in Doyon, ND to Clarence and Alma (Stang) LaVine. Margaret married Jalmer Richard Monson on October 24, 1931, in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was a stay-at-home mom except during World War II, when she worked at a munitions plant in Des Moines, IA.\r\nMargaret was a charter member of Concordia Lutheran Church.\r\nFamily and friends will always remember her remembering them. She never missed a birthday or special occasion. We will not forget her warmth for a visitor-conversation, homemade goodies, and especially her doughnuts. She had an undying love for family, friends, flowers, birds, and the Lord.\r\nSurvivors include two sons, Kenneth Monson and Merle (Joanne) Monson; her daughter, Mary Backstrom all of Eau Claire; a half brother, Ronald (Karon) LaVine of Lake City, IA; daughter-in-law, Louise Monson of Tony; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; a son, Larry; infant daughter, LaVonne Monson; brother, Lloyd LaVine; half brother, Robert LaVine; and a half sister, Helen Sundby.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2004, at Concordia Lutheran Church with the Rev. Frederick W. Theiste officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to Concordia Lutheran Church, 3715 London Rd., Eau Claire, WI 54701.\r\n
