Margaret "Peggy" E. Sirianni, 90, of Eau Claire, died Sunday, March 5, 2012, at Oak Gardens Assisted Living in Altoona, WI. She was born in Ellsworth, WI, on October 14, 1921, the daughter of John & Martha (Orton) Shannon. Peggy graduated from Stout University in 1943, with a degree in Home Economics, and taught at various schools throughout the area, including Regis High School. While teaching in Cumberland, Peggy met Albert D. Sirianni. They married on September 8, 1945, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Cumberland. They lived in Rice Lake where Albert worked with his family at Sirianni Distributing. In 1963, they moved to Eau Claire where they owned and operated Eau Claire Distributing Company. Peggy was very proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed traveling to Ireland with her daughter and grandson in 2003. Peggy was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Peggy is survived by a daughter, Kathy Long of Eau Claire; son, Tim of Willow Creek, CA; five grandsons; eleven great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Don Ziehme of Weyerhaeuser; a brother-in-law, Fred (Jean) Sirianni of Vero Beach, FL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert in 2001; a daughter, Judy; a grandson, Keith Long; son-in-law, Jack Long; four brothers-in-law, Frank, Ben, Emil and Peter; and two sisters-in-law, Bridget Axtell and Anna Fee The family of Peggy would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice and the staff at Oak Gardens for their care and kindness. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1721 Highland Ave. in Eau Claire, with Father Eugene A. Klink officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum in Eau Claire. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the Mass Thursday at the church.
