Margaret Ella May Slusher, 88, of Eau Claire, passed away at the Clairemont Nursing Home on Monday, December 6, 2010.\r\nMargaret was born on March 8, 1922, in Eau Claire, a daughter of Fred C. and Reva (Kenney) Anderson. She lived with her family on a farm in the Town of Wheaton where she attended Longview School and graduated from Elk Mound High School in 1940.\r\nMargaret was a Radio Operator for the U.S. Army-Air Force (W.A.C.) for three years during WWII. After the war, she lived thirty five years in Orange County, CA. First she lived in Garden Grove and then in Huntington Beach where she owned and managed a children's day-care center. Margaret lived ten years in Hemet, CA prior to moving to Eau Claire in 1996. \r\nShe is survived by three sons, Jeffrey (Denise) Slusher of Chico, CA, Bradley (Kimberly) Slusher of Henderson, NV and Steven Slusher of Huntington Beach, CA; four grandchildren, Kyle Slusher, Kory Slusher, Andy Slusher and Angela Rioux; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Oas and Charlotte Otto, both of Eau Claire; brother, Fred (Helene) Anderson of Elk Mound; sister-in-law, Chris Anderson of Park Falls and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Reva and brother, James Anderson.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire with Rev. Rolf Nestingen officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home only. \r\nThe family would like to express their gratitude to the Clairemont Nursing Home and to Dr. Jean Anderson for their care given to Margaret. A special thanks to Charlotte Otto for her tender loving care. \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Memory Unit of the Clairemont Nursing Home or to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
