Margaret Ann (Miller) Sprain, age 90, of Eau Claire, WI, died peacefully at her home in Oakwood Hills Assisted Living on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. She was born in La Crosse, WI, on June 10, 1925, the daughter of Fred and Anna (Brandt) Miller. She graduated from West Salem High School in 1943, thereafter, attending La Crosse Vocational School. On November 18, 1944, she married Calvin W. Sprain in San Francisco, CA. They were married 45 years. Upon his death, she partnered with John Mertz for 17 years. Ann loved playing bridge, flower gardening, traveling and socializing with friends and neighbors. She is survived by her four children, Sherrill (Mike) Solberg, Donna (Dennis) Gee, Darlene (La Verne) Nelson, and Calvin (Joan) Sprain; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin; partner, John; parents; and three brothers, Donald (Vera) Miller, Carlet (Virginia) Miller and Willis (Mildred) Miller. Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. on Monday, July 6, 2015, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. in Eau Claire. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2015, in Hamilton Cemetery in West Salem, WI.
