MARGARET J. VOGLER, age 80, of 739 Chippewa St., died Friday, February 27, 1998 at Dove Health Care Center. She was born April 2, 1917 in Mondovi to Martin and Julia (Thompson) Thorson. She grew up there and attended the Mondovi schools. Marge married Wally Vogler on July 10, 1943 in Seattle,WA. They began operation of Wally's Swiss Chalet restaurant in 1951. Following Wally's death in 1973, Marge remained actively involved in it operation until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary to American Legion Post #53. \r\nSurvivors include three sons, Robert (Sharon) of Germantown, Jerry (Arlene) and John (Paula) both of Eau Claire; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Oatman and Lois Thompson both of Eau Claire; and a brother Wally Thorson of Mondovi.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Wally; her parents, four sisters, Cleo Davis, Arvilla "Toots" Stanton, Donna Holm and Joann Thorson Thiesse; and two brothers, Jim and Duane Thorson. \r\nMarge's wonderful sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew her.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert E. Esse officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and 10 a.m. until time of services, Tuesday at the church.
