MARGARET ASENATH WETHERN, 89, of 600 Graham Ave., passed away on February 10, 1998, at the Clairemont, after a short illness.\r\nMargaret was born November 24, 1908, in Eau Claire to Samuel and Margaret Wethern. She graduated from Eau Claire H.S. in 1925, and then attended Lasell College in Auburndale, Mass., where she received her secretarial certificate in 1929. She attended Whitewater State Teachers College in Whitewater, Wis., and received her bachelors degree in Commercial Education in 1944. She continued her studies at the Teacher's College, Columbia University, and received her Masters Degree in 1946. Margaret taught drama and speech and other courses at Lassell College in Mass. She loved doing anything connected with theater including acting, performing stage work, and teaching. After many years at Lasell College, Margaret accepted a position as an executive secretary with Raytheon Corp., where she worked until retirement in 1973. After her retirement Margaret continued to live in Auburndale until 1991, when she returned to Eau Claire.\r\nMargaret leaves behind a legacy of excellence in work, achievement in life, and love of family. She was known for her keen sense of humor, her notion of fairness, for her love of theater, music, the arts, and an appetite for fine food, especially steamed lobster. Margaret loved writing, and corresponded regularly with her family and the many friends she gathered around her over the years.\r\nMargaret is survived by her nephew, Ralph Wethern and his wife, Dorothy of Bloomington, MN; Mrs. Charles Wethern (Evelyn), Atlanta,GA; and the following grand nieces and grand nephews, Stephen Nogle, Summerville, SC; Meredith (Nogle) Hess, West Allis, WI; Diane (Nogle) Bohman, Big Bend, WI; Mark Wethern, Burnsville, MN; Christine A. Wethern, Clancy, MT; Michael Wethern,Winter Haven, FL; Kathleen (Wethern) Hobein, Wheaton, IL; Samuel Wethern, Anne (Wethern) Clark, and Thomas Wethern all of Atlanta, GA; Terri (Wethern) Neidhold, Hamilton, OH; John Wethern, Oak Hill,VA; and Richard Curtis, El Dorado Hills, CA.\r\nMargaret's family and friends will dearly miss her.\r\nMargaret will be cremated. The family will receive visitors at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home on Friday February 13, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. after which her ashes will be buried in the family plot in Lakeview Cemetery.
