MARGARET E. WINGER, formerly of the Town of Hallie, died Thursday. January 3, 2002, at Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born on July 16, 1908 in Eau Claire to Anton and Karine "Carrie" (Anderson) Anderson. Margaret graduated from Eau Claire Sr. High School with the class of 1926. \r\nShe married O. Wayne Winger on September 1, 1953 in Stillwater, MN.\r\nMargaret worked 17 years in the office of S.S. Kresge Co., and 31 years as bookkeeper and cashier for National Presto Industries until her retirement. She was a member of First Lutheran Church; she sang in the church choir, taught Sunday School, and enjoyed playing piano for Sunday school. Margaret was an avid reader and took time to enjoy doing handwork and crossword puzzles. \r\nSurvivors include five nieces, Joyce (Robert) Hanson of Elk Mound, Carol Anderson of Eagan, MN, Marlys (Bill) Sowaske of Hales Corners, Nancy (John) Christenson of Eau Claire, and Ruth (Edward) Brooks of Chetek; a nephew, Eugene (Crystal) Anderson of Rifle, CO; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, O. Wayne in 1998; her parents; two brothers, Adolph and Julien Anderson; and a niece, Lois Theiler.\r\nFamily requests memorials please be directed to First Lutheran Church.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2002 at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Big Elk Creek Cemetery, town of Wheaton, Chippewa County. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday (Today) January 4, 2002 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.\r\nHer family wishes to thank Grace Edgewood and Syverson Lutheran Home for their loving and excellent care Margaret received the past three years.\r\n
