Marie Margaret Mayer, 82, of Eau Claire, was called home on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, from River Pines Nursing Home, Altoona. Marie was born on February 9, 1935, in Eau Claire, WI, a daughter to Hans and Burnetta (Brunn) Jorgenson. She married Ronald Mayer on September 26, 1953, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, and together they raised eight children. She enjoyed baking, watching birds, reading, knitting, going to lunch with friends and family. Marie is survived by her husband, Ronald; her daughters, Jean (Jay) Nispel of Baltimore, MD, Nancy (Ron) Reidel of Eau Claire, WI, Mary (Gene) Livingston of Dodge Center, MN, Rhonda (John) Jackson of Dousman, WI, Joyce (John) Reidinger of Chetek, WI; her sons, Peter of Newington, GA, Paul (Lori) of Round Rock, TX, Michael of Baltimore, MD; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Thelma Johnson of Colfax, WI, and Ruth (Jim) Ackerlund of Colfax, WI; brothers and sisters-in-law; special cousin, Pat Wallace; nieces; nephews; and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Hans Jr. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th St, Eau Claire, with Father Tom Krieg officiating. Visitation will be at 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 29, 2017, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave, Eau Claire, and again on Tuesday at 10 a.m. continuing until the time of Mass at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Eau Claire.
