Obituary

Marie Loretta (Frank) Vogler, 87, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2026, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She leaves behind a family who loved her dearly and a lifetime of warm memories, handmade treasures, and friendships made one walk at a time.

Marie had a gift for making things with her hands and her heart. She was rarely seen without knitting in her lap, and many in her family will treasure the Christmas stockings she lovingly made for them. Her ceramics were so beautiful they earned her awards, and she poured that same care into every craft she took on.

She was a friend to everyone she met. On her many walks she struck up conversations with neighbors and strangers alike, and more than a few of them became lifelong friends. She loved being part of a community, from her days with the Flying Eagles Ski Club in 1948 and 1949 to serving with pride as president of the Elks Ladies.

To her grandchildren, Grandma was the one who always had a deck of cards ready. They will forever remember games of cribbage, Dirty Clubs, and so many others around her table, filled with laughter and a little friendly competition. In quieter moments she could be found with a word search, happily circling away. Her patience, warmth, and steady love made every visit feel like coming home.

Marie is lovingly remembered by her children, Dr. William (Tammy Congdon) Halbleib, Suzanne (Bob) White, Cathleen (Carl) Chase, and Debra (Larry) Benner; her grandchildren, Amy (Travis) Weiss, Kyle Halbleib, Jason (Lisa) Baribeau, Dustin (Ashley) Baribeau, Christopher Baribeau, Sara Chase, Johnathan (Christine) Chase, Steve Chase, Lisa Chase, Jeremiah (Ashley) Benner, Jacob (Rachel) Benner, Elissa Benner, and Samuel Benner; and her 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband's Donald Vogler, and Thomas Halbleib; 3 brothers and a sister and by adopted parents, Delbert and Mildred Frank.

Though we will miss her deeply, we take comfort in knowing her love lives on in every stitch, every card game, and every family she touched.

A private graveside service was held for the family. A celebration of Marie's life will be held Wednesday, November 4, from 11-1:00 PM at Brickhouse Pub & Grub, 2233 Birch Street, Eau Claire.
