Marilee C. Szymoniak, 74, of Eau Claire, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at home. Marilee was born on May 30, 1944, in Stanley, Wisconsin to Vernon and Helena (Faschingbauer) Hanson. She attended Stanley High School and graduated with the Class of 1962. She furthered her education as a dental assistant in Milwaukee and then moved to Chicago. On November 30, 1963, Marilee married Kenneth Szymoniak at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Stanley. Together they moved to back to Eau Claire where she worked as a dental assistant for Hillside Dental and Dr. Woehrmann, and later worked at Hutchinson Technology before retiring in 2010. Marilee enjoyed going to the Senior Center and exercising with the Dot's and "going down the road". She loved to organize a party and spend time with her friends and family, especially with her grandson, Wyatt. Marilee had a love for the holidays and had a smile and laugh that brightened any room she was in. Marilee is survived by her husband of 54 years, Kenneth; daughter, Kendra (Westley) Manske; grandson, Wyatt; five brothers, Thomas (Gloria), Gerald, Kenneth, Roger and Eugene (Nancy); sister-in-law, Sue Hanson; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Steven, Wayne and Clayton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018, at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 3220 Monroe St. in Eau Claire with Father Paul Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at the WEST CHAPEL of Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave. in Eau Claire, and again one hour prior to the Mass on Monday at the church. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery, in Eau Claire.
