Marion Ella Allen, 90, of Eau Claire, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Oakwood Villa in Altoona, WI. Marion was born on January 11, 1925, the daughter of Alex and Wilhelmina "Minnie" (Jahr) Nauman in her grandmother's farm house in Cadott, WI. She grew up in Eau Claire, but spent many summers at the farm. She graduated from Eau Claire High School with the Class of 1943, and was employed by Northwest Credit Bureau. During World War II, she was a member of the USO, and it was at one of those events in 1944 that she met the love of her life, John Allen. They were married in Eau Claire on April 14, 1946. They lived for a time in Centralia, WA, where their two daughters, Sharon and Cindy, were born. In 1953, they moved back to Eau Claire, where their third child, Michael, was born. They moved to Elk Mound in 1982, and were members of Shepherd of the Hill Church. In 1997, they returned to Eau Claire, where she resided until her death. Marion was a member of the Chippewa Valley Technical School Homemakers. She also did volunteer work for the Luther Hospital Auxiliary at the Red Carpet Thrift Shop. Everyone who knew her will remember her as a lovely, gentle woman. She was a loving wife and mother, always involved in her children's lives. She and John loved to travel and they spent much of their retirement seeing the wonders of the world and visiting with family and friends. She was blessed by two lovely granddaughters and delighted in every moment she spent with them. Marion is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Eugene) Bowe of Eau Claire; son, Michael (Carrie) Allen of Red Wing, MN; brothers, Marvin (Bette) Nauman of Miami, FL and Richard (Karen) Nauman of Goodyear, AZ; two granddaughters, Amanda (Brian) Bowe-Nelson of Mesa, AZ and Alison Bowe of Eau Claire; great-grandson, Ryan; and brother-in-law, David Allen of Carmichael, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and daughter, Sharon Allen. Memorial services will be held at Noon on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church, 207 University Ave. in Elk Mound, WI, with Pastor Mary Eide officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at a later date in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire.
