Obituary

Marion H. Howe, 79, of Eau Claire, passed away Thursday November 14, 2002 at her home, ending a short and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded with love from her family.\r\nMarion was born in Ashton, IA on January 25, 1923, the daughter of Albert and Helen (Farr) Krogman. She graduated from Elk Mound High School. Marion married Clifford "Bud" A. Howe on Christmas Eve, 1942 in Tucson, AZ.\r\nHer many life-long interests included gardening, traveling and supporting her husband and children in their athletics.\r\nShe was a devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church where she served as an usher for over 25 years.\r\nAs a loving mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by three sons, Ramon (Diane) of Rockford, IL, Allen (Alice) of Altoona and James (Sheryl) of Eau Claire; one daughter, Patricia Short of Maui, HI; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn Thorson of Altoona, Lorie (Bob) Molitor of Eau Claire and Barbara Davenport of Middleton; one brother, Keith (Rosemary) Krogman of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband Clifford; her daughter Cheryl Hrenak; her parents; one sister, Virginia; and two brothers, Karl and Richard.\r\nMarion will be remembered always as a strong and loving woman, who will remain forever in the hearts of many.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 18, 2002 at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.
