Marion I. Klawiter, 87, formerly of 730 Broadway St., died Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born October 2, 1915 in Eau Claire the daughter of Ole and Carrie (Sneen) Garlie.\r\nMarion married Gerhardt A. Klawiter at Grace Lutheran Church on May 12, 1940. She worked as a receptionist at Midelfort Clinic for 25 years. After her retirement Marion volunteered at Luther Hospital for 20 years.\r\nShe was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church and a 50 year member of Eau Claire Chapter No. 126 Order of the Eastern Star.\r\nSurvivors include three sons, James (Romaine), Gary (Cora), and Douglas (Jill), all of Eau Claire; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great- granddaughter; two brothers-in-law, Robert Klawiter and Elmer Heuer both of Eau Claire; four sisters-in-law, Phyllis Klawiter, Martha Klawiter and Geraldine Garlie all of Eau Claire, and Grace Madden of Chippewa Falls; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Gerhardt in 1996; an infant son, Mark; parents; four brothers, Lloyd, Harley, Carl and Harold Garlie; six sisters, Stella Opsata, Sylvia Duncan, Edna Mitchell, Helen Garlie, Eileen Heuer and Esther Jones.\r\nFuneral Services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on Monday, January 20, 2003 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
