Marion L. Smith, 90, formerly of 1831 Folsom St., Eau Claire, died Friday, January 20, 2006, at Clairemont Nursing Home. She was born in Eau Claire, on October 24, 1915, the daughter of Fred and Belle (Anderson) Mesang.\r\nShe graduated from Eau Claire Teachers College in 1937 and taught elementary education at Bartlett School in Eau Claire's 3rd Ward.\r\nMarion married Leo Smith on June 3, 1958 in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was a member of the Homemakers, the Retired Teachers Association, a former director of the Girl Scouts, and a lover of all sports.\r\nMarion is survived by her two step-sons, Jerry J. (Kathryn) Smith of Eau Claire, and Thomas Smith of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; nieces and nephews including Debbie A. Bresina (Robert Kozel) of Forest Lake, MN, Terry J. Bresina of Norwich, NY, Michael P. Bresina of Chippewa Falls, and Susan D. Bresina of Eau Claire. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo in 2001; and her sister, Dorothy Bresina.\r\nMemorial services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2006, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Rev. David J. Irgens officiating. Burial will be in St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery in Eau Claire. Friends may call from noon Tuesday until time of services at the Funeral Home.
