Marjorie Ann MacLaughlin, 69, of Eau Claire, passed away Monday, June 09, 2008, at Angelspace in Eau Claire.\r\nMarjorie was born on April 26, 1939, to Forrest and Myrtle Hollister in Mondovi. She attended school in Mondovi and as a teenager moved to Eau Claire with her family. She graduated from Eau Claire High School in June of 1957 and was immediately employed as a telephone operator at Wisconsin Bell.\r\nOn December 13, 1957, Marjorie was united in marriage to David MacLaughlin at Peace Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. They had two sons, Michael David and Daryl Eric, and an adopted daughter, Kristine Gail. Daryl died in infancy.\r\nMarjorie always had an uncommon love of nature and beauty and a special fondness for children. She also loved small birds and animals whom she fed regularly and often referred to as "God's little creatures who live among us." For many years Marjorie planted and maintained several beautiful flower gardens strategically located and enhanced with statuary which could be viewed from every window in her house.\r\nMarjorie is survived by her husband of 50 years, David of Eau Claire; son, Michael (Lorraine) of Milwaukee, WI; adopted daughter, Kristine (Thomas) Muth of Laguina Niguel, CA; and three grandchildren, Jesse, Kelly, and Anna Lisa. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, Daryl Eric; and a sister, Muriel White.\r\nFor all those who knew her and loved her, the beautiful lady with the friendly outgoing personality, and dazzling smile, will be greatly missed.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Kaste officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the funeral home.In tears we watched her suffer,we watched her fade away,our hearts were almost broken,She fought so hard to stay.\r\nBut when we saw her sleeping,so peaceful free of painwe could not wish her backto suffer that again.\r\nLord keep your arms around her.And in your loving care,make up for all she suffered,and all that seemed unfair.\r\nIt broke our hearts to lose her,but she did not go alone,for part of us went with herthe day God called her home.
