Marjorie M. "Marge" Marick, 78, of Eau Claire, died on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Sacred Heart Hospital, after bravely battling cancer for 19 years. She was born on January 17, 1935, at home in Barron County, to George and Gladys (Cole) Phillips. She graduated from Chetek High School and then attended technical college in Eau Claire. After technical college she worked for National Presto Ind., Spencer Corp., and Chmel Dental Lab as a bookkeeper. She retired on her birthday in 1990, after 27 years, from the dental lab. On November 22, 1974, she married the love of her life, Fred Marrick, in Eau Claire. She loved cooking and baking, biking, walking, and family gatherings. The last 23 years Marge and Fred spent 6 months of each year in Mesa, Arizona enjoying their friends and family and the sunshine. Marge is survived by her husband of 39 years, Fred; sister, Helen Johnson; brother, Lyle (Shirley) Phillips; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and very special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Norma (Russell) Thompson; brother-in-law, Elmer Johnson; infant sister, Ruth; and infant brother, Clinton. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1712 Highland Ave. with Fr. Eugene A. Klink officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home WEST CHAPEL, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave. with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the Mass at church. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire. The family would like to thank Dr. Muslim who took special care of Marge through all of her chemo, and all the staff at Sacred Heart Hospital, especially the Cancer Center.
