Obituary

Marjorie I. Rundberg, 86, of Eau Claire passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, March 12, 2004. She was born January 14, 1918 in Chaseley, North Dakota, to Frank and Pearl (Wiggins) Snyder. She was one of ten children. She moved with her family to Eau Claire where she attended school and graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1935. \r\nIn 1941 Marjorie married Wesley Whiteside. He died in 1955 and in 1962 she married Einar Rundberg. They were married for 25 years. He passed away in 1987.\r\nShe worked at Uniroyal in the office and at the switchboard for 37 years, retiring in 1981. She greatly enjoyed her retirement years reading, knitting, golfing, swimming, fishing and traveling. Marge and Einar loved to go to auctions and thrift sales. They would spend time in the summer fishing and relaxing at a resort in Minnesota. \r\nShe was a member of Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ, Royaleers, PBX, Retreads, and her swim group. She enjoyed traveling with visits to Europe, Canada, Florida, North&South Dakota, California and New York.\r\nMarge was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, she will be missed by all.\r\nSurvivors include her two daughters, Linda (Ken) Schlageter and Cheryl (Charles) Case; four grandsons, Michael (Cheryl) Cornell, Brian Cornell, Jeffery (Michelle) Case and Brent Case;; two great grand children, Joseph and Nicole Cornell all of Eau Claire; two sisters, Marian (Karl) Hilgendorf of Brevard, NC, and Mildred Barrile of Limestone, NY; two sisters-in-law, Leola Demoe and Sophie Bliss both of Eau Claire; her three step children; many nieces, nephews and friends; and her god-child Kevin Snyder of Hudson. \r\nShe was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Frank, Walter, and Leo Snyder; and four sisters, Dorothy Moore, Helen Sorenson, Rose Owen, and Margaret Shaffer.\r\nLin and Cheri would like to give praise and glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus for giving us the family of Jane, Mark, Kimmy and Chrissy Schlageter. We deeply appreciate their care and concern for making Mom a part of their family. There are no words to describe our thanks to them. They are God's blessing to us.\r\nA celebration of Marge's life will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ with Rev. Alan McCain officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. \r\nHer family requests memorial be directed to Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ, 2010 Moholt Drive, Eau Claire, WI 54703.\r\n
