Marjorie L. Strand, 82, of 342 Twin Oak Dr., Altoona, Oak Gardens died Saturday, January 10, 2004 at her residence. She was born on September 29, 1921 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, the daughter of Emil and Lillian (Meyer) Maves. She grew up in Stanley, graduating from High School there in 1939.\r\nMarjorie married Lionel M. Strand on April 21, 1946 in Stanley.\r\nShe was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.\r\nMarjorie is survived by her daughter, Bobbi (Jim) Husak of Waukesha; and a sister Sharon La Flex of Stanley.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband Lionel, in 1984; her parents; two brothers, Earl and Arnold; and a sister, Elaine Maves.\r\nFuneral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastors Kurt M. Jacobson and Mary L. Jorgensen officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving the family.
