Obituary

Marjorie G. Wangen, 89, of Elmwood, died Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie. \r\nShe was born in Elmwood on July 24, 1918, the daughter of Guy and Lilly Jane (Smith) Phillips.\r\nShe married Max Crownhart in 1937 in Elmwood. He died in January of 1944 during the Normandy Invasion in France. Marjorie married Theodore "Ted" J. Wangen on June 21, 1958, at North Rush River Church in Baldwin. He died April 2, 1991 in Eau Claire.\r\nMarjorie is survived by two children, John (Sue) Crownhart of Hudson and Jane (Scott) Parker; two sisters, Margaret Smith of Eau Claire, and Fern Trainor of Elmwood; a brother, Sylvester Phillips of Durand; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and by numerous nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a daughter, Wanda; and two sisters. \r\nFuneral services will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Carlton Kangas officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service at the funeral home. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.\r\n
