Mark Nelson of Eau Claire, WI, passed away on June 18, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Health System, at the age of 72. Mark courageously faced multiple health challenges over many years with strength and optimism.

He was born on April, 15th 1954, in Red Wing, MN. He grew up in rural Baldwin, WI. Mark graduated from Baldwin/Woodville High School in 1972.

Mark will be remembered for his love of family, and the joy he found in music, fishing, camping and riding his motorcycle. His gentle spirit and kind heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He is survived by Marlene Nelson, his loving wife of forty-nine years; children, Julie Barry and Jamie (Logan Rastedt); granddaughter, Natalie Rastedt; mother, Nancy Nelson; siblings, Robin (Kevin) Hays, Tarsia (Jack) Harra, Tim (Angela) Nelson; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Nelson.

Mark will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will take place at 11am Friday, July 10, 2026 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home-WEST CHAPEL, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave. Eau Claire, with Jody Hagedorn officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the service.
