Mark A. Michels, 50, of Eau Claire, died as a result of a boating accident on July 22, 2011, in the Village of Lake Hallie. \r\nMark was born in Eau Claire on February 5, 1961, to Aloys F. and Joan M. (Jacobson) Michels.\r\nMark was employed by Jack Link Auto&RV Center in Chippewa Falls, WI.\r\nMark is survived by his parents; three children, Sarah and Mark Michels of Norman, OK and Ross Michels of Cadott, WI; four sisters, Joan (Dave) Holmberg of Elk Mound, WI, Patrice ( Jim) Gustafson of Little Canada, MN, Lauri (Peter) Hagen of New Mexico, Susan Michels of Idaho; and special friend, Carol Oller. He is also survived by five nieces and seven nephews. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his brother, James Michels and grandparents.\r\nFuneral Services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at 12 Noon, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th St., Eau Claire, with Father John A. Schultz officiating. Inurnment will be at Holy Guardian Angels Cemetery in the Town of Clear Creek at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, with a Public Prayer Vigil at 6:30 p.m. at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire, WI, and one hour prior to the service, Thursday, at the church.
