Marlene A. Mercer, age 88, passed away October 4, 2021, under the care of family and Moments Hospice. She was a lifelong resident of Eau Claire. Marlene worked at Presto Industries inspecting shells for the service, waitressed at Wally's Swiss Chalet, and was a CNA and housekeeper at medical facilities in Eau Claire. She was also employed by Bjork Halfway House for several years. Marlene enjoyed spending time reading, crafting, shopping, knitting and completing projects with her sister-in-law, Shirley. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they were growing up. She is survived by daughter, Lana Berry; son, Wayne (Dana) Mercer; grandchildren, Jason (Tara) Hilmanowski, Michelle (Mike) Hodgson, Ida (Tom) Thalacker, Matt and Amber Mercer, Lisa (Donna) Wilson, Terry (Mary) Mercer Jr.; 7 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Shirley Bjork; 2 nieces; and numerous cousins. Marlene was preceded in death by parents, Arnold and Ida Bjork; son, Terry Mercer; and brother, Charles Bjork. A Celebration of Life and inurnment will be at a later time.
