Marlene E. Sly, 88, of Eau Claire, died Wednesday, June 06, 2012, at Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation. Marlene was born on June 26, 1923, in Eleva, Wisconsin to Colonel and Evaline (Markham) Ames. Marlene married Raymond E. Sly on January 31, 1940, in Decorah, Iowa. Marlene and Raymond loved to dance and Marlene enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and playing bingo. Marlene is survived by her four daughters, Darlene Manix, Jeri (Verlin) Eckwright and Carol (Keith) Jorgensen all of Eau Claire and Sharon (Wayne) Ouimet of Cornell; daughter-in-law, Donna Sly of Chippewa Falls; fifteen grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond 2003; son, Donald; two brothers, Frank and Maynard; and five sisters, Gladys Hanson, Dora Kent, Leona Miller, Norma Hanson and Arlys Fremstad. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2012, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3335 Stein Blvd. in Eau Claire, with Bishop David G. Sorge officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Monday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral & Cremation Services is serving her family.
