MARLOW B. HALVERSON, 67, of 803 Park Ridge Drive, died peacefully with family at his side, Thursday, January 6, 2000, at Dove Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born July 12, 1932 in Colfax to Edler and Mildred (Wollum) Halverson. He graduated from Colfax High School with the class of 1950.\r\nMarlow served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict aboard the ship, USS Frontier, as a Shipfitter. On September 15, 1956, he married Eileen Goodell in Wheeler. Marlow was employed at Phoenix Steel for 35 years, retiring as a shop supervisor.\r\nMarlow enjoyed the outdoors, especially at his lake property in Barnes, WI. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.\r\nSurvivors include his wife Eileen; daughter, Julie (Greg) Martin of Eau Claire; son, Paul (Chris Frank) of Poplar, WI; two sisters, Maxine (Paul) Rapp of Cottage Grove, WI and Carol (Harold) Bursaw of Sun Prairie, WI; brother, LeRoy (Sylvia) Anderson of Colfax; several nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Rae; parents; stepmother, Gladys Halverson; brother, Trevor; and his special companion, P.J., his pet poodle.\r\nServices will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor John E. Hosmann officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery where VFW Post # 305 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.
