Obituary

Marshall N. Erickson "Mushy", 75, of the town of Wheaton, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 19, 2006, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Eau Claire on February 10, 1930, the son of Adolfe and Cora (Peterson) Erickson. \r\nHe was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. \r\nMarshall married Marlene J. Hackey on June 4, 1955, at First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.\r\nHe worked in maintenance for 36 years at Pope&Talbot Paper Mill until his retirement in 1992.\r\nMarshall is survived by three sons, Dennis (Nancy), Terry (Mary), Wayne (Tammi Clark) and a daughter, Julie Erickson all of Eau Claire; fifteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia A. Casper, Janet M. Andrews, and Audrey A. (Loren) Frandsen, all of Eau Claire; five brothers, Robert E. (Marjorie) Erickson of Eau Claire, Gerald J. (Joyce) Erickson of Spooner, David D. (Fabby) Erickson of Deming, NM, Stanley G. (Darlene) Erickson of Chetek, and Donald A. (Mona) Erickson of Appleton; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth (George) Flether of Clam Lake and Betty (Chet) Maco of Denver, MA; two brothers-in-law, Jerry Hackey of Milwaukee and John Hackey Sr. of Crandon; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene in 2004; his parents; a sister, Evelyn M. Erickson; three brothers, Adolph A., Harold W. and Gordon R. Erickson; three sisters-in-law, Arlene, Helen and Sheri Erickson; a brother-in-law, Steven Casper; and a special nephew and friend, John Gilbertson.\r\nMarshall was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be dearly missed.\r\nMemorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2006, at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.\r\nA special thank you to the staff at Northwest Homecare Hospice.
