Obituary

Marshall "Mush" E. Rude, 77, of Eau Claire, joined his Lord and Savior Thursday, June 30, 2005, at his home.\r\nMush was born on February 11, 1928, in Eau Claire to Beatrice (Mitchell) Rude and Marshall Rude Sr. In his earlier years, Mush and several family members were cooks and bakers at the Hotel Eau Claire. He graduated from Eau Claire High School and went on to study art in Madison, WI. Mush served in the U.S. Navy at Pearl Harbor as a Seaman, First Class, being honorably discharged on February 12, 1948. He was a member of the George B. Wheeler Lodge #351 F&AM, a 3rd degree mason. Mush was a long time member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he married Mary Jane Hart on September 1, 1951. They enjoyed 43 happily married years together in Eau Claire. After 38 years of service, Mush retired from Uniroyal where he worked as a tire builder. In previous years, he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, dancing and spending family time at his cabin on Lake Tainter. More recently, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, music, movies and spending time with his pal, "Augie Doggy." Mush is survived by one son, Craig (Cindy) of Black River Falls; two daughters, Marsha (Tom) Donagan and Pamela Jane Rude, all of Eau Claire; three grandchildren, Lacy Jane Rude of Madison, Ryan and Marisa Donagan of Eau Claire; two sisters-in-law, four nephews, two nieces and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one brother, Arthur Rude, and one brother-in-law. Dad and mom will forever be close in our hearts. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at Grace Lutheran Church, Eau Claire, with the Rev. David J. Irgens officiating. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington, WI. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, Eau Claire and one hour prior to the time of service at the church.
